Hexadecimal code calculation and programming for ELT96 / 97
Hexadecimal code calculator for ELT96/97 v1.1
This page allows to calculate the hexadecimal code identification of an ELT,
used to register the registration of an ELT96/97 near authorities.
A programmed ELT with the aircraft identification where it is mounted, allows to identify directly this aircraft,
and if the ELT has been registered near authorities, search and rescue teams knows directly who to contact to determine if the alert is real or not (99% of the cases).
All of these contribute to maintain the search and rescue system performances.
If it is not the case, the time necessary to identify the alert will delay the rescue arrival, and the alert could simply be ignored.
Registration near authorities of the ELT programming is the responsability of the aircraft operator.
